Denis Dragunsky is a writer and journalist, the author of books such as "Factory of Prose," "Deceivers," "Daughter of a Beloved Woman," "Neighborhood Girl," and many others. He is the son of writer Viktor Dragunsky, the creator of the famous "Deniskin Stories."
"The Authentic Life of Denis Korablyov" is a journey into oneself, a dialogue with one's literary double. It is an almost autobiographical novel, sincere and ruthless towards oneself. It is about family, childhood, and coming of age in Moscow in the 1950s-60s, about the yard, bicycle, and father's "Volga," about dad and mom and their circle of friends (from famous writers to modest classmates), about the apartment in Karetny Ryad and the house in the writers' village, about summer and school friends, about first loves, envy, pity, foolishness, and happiness.
It is about the fictional Viktor Dragunsky's perpetually cheerful boy Denisk Korablyov - and about the real Denis Dragunsky, who is often mistaken for him.
