The great geographical discoveries are one of the most interesting and captivating epochs in the history of mankind. The insane courage of the first explorers in achieving their goals was combined with incredible cruelty towards the population of the lands they discovered. All of this is told in the book by the German scientist Sigmund Günter, "The Age of Great Discoveries". And although it was written in the late 19th century, it has not lost its educational value even in our time.
