Reprint from the edition. Paris, 1926. Pavel Pavlovich Muratov (1881—1950) was a Russian writer and art historian, translator and publisher, emigrant, and organizer of the "Bookstore of Writers." Since 1905, he worked at the Rumyantsev Museum as a keeper of the department of fine arts and classical antiquities. In 1922, he left Russia. In 1923, having settled in Rome, he organized a salon in his house, which was visited by practically all Russian intellectuals who were in the Italian capital at that time. The comedy "The Adventures of Daphnis and Chloe" was published in Paris in the journal "Contemporary Notes" in 1927 and has not been reissued since. The print run of 30 copies was produced using print-on-demand technology.
