The famous Baron Münhhausen is not fiction. A man named Karl Friedrich Jerome Baron Von Munchhausen-Auf-Bodenverder really existed. He belonged to the rich noble family, in his youth consisted of military service, participated in the Russian-Turkish war and the siege of Ochakov. Returning home after the wanderings, Munhhausen settled in his estate, took friends and gladly told them about his adventures. Sometimes he was extremely fascinated and fastened unrestrained. His implausible stories really liked listeners and eventually began to live their lives, faster than new details. In 1781, on the pages of the magazine "collection for funny people, Münhgausen first appeared as a literary character in the novels of an anonymous author. Gottfried August Burger (1747-1794) recycled and supplemented the book with a break, releasing its own version under a different name.
