The period of the "thaw" is interesting not only for the series of events that formed a certain cultural paradigm, but also for the life strategies chosen by the heroes of that era. Continuing the research started in the book "Thaw: Events," Sergey Chuprinin this time shifts the focus and introduces the reader to the iconic figures of that time. His new book is a kind of encyclopedia containing biographical sketches of writers, translators, philologists, editors, publishers, officials, and chroniclers of the thaw era. The author's task was not only to establish accurate information about these people but also to create their psychological portraits in order to reconstruct the motivations behind their actions - noble or dishonorable. These sketches form a large "human comedy" of the thaw era, and the fates of their heroes often intersect in the most whimsical ways. Sergey Chuprinin is a Doctor of Philological Sciences, a professor at the A. M. Gorky Literary Institute, and the chief editor of the magazine "Znamya."
