Textbook on Lexicology

The textbook provides a consistent consideration of the main issues of verbal semantics on the material of modern English. A functional and semiotic interpretation of the characteristic nature of the word, the essence of the meaning and structure of the value in the English word is presented. In the chapters dedicated to the definition of the word and the structure of verbal importance, including polishey, motivated by homonymy and the morphology of the word, justifies a fundamentally new look at the nature of the value and the method of its existence in the Word. In chapters dedicated to phraseology, antonym and synonyms, the text nature of these phenomena is substantiated and a number of new approaches to their definition are proposed. Each chapter pays attention to the critical consideration of the relevant sections of the denotative theory of importance.
