Teremok

The illustrations of the Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Koshkin to the Russian folk fairy tale "Teremok" is rightfully marked by a silver medal of the Russian Academy of Arts. The artist is safely taken for the most difficult task: to give a new life to the whole long-known fairy tale, which I illustrated and made dozens of talented masters of book art. A rare skill to feel the measure, invariably distinguishing book graphics of Koshkin, accompanies the master and in this work. He skillfully avoids temptations to overstat his illustrations with rinse-folk-folk eclectic stereotypes. It can be seen that the artist thoughtfully and painstakingly studies the traditions of Russian antiquity, discovered with great interest for himself - and therefore for young spectators - the richest heritage of folk art and life.
