Thomas Ventzlova (b. 1937) - Lithuanian poet, essayist, philologist and translator, Professor Emeritus Slavic languages and literature of the University of Yale, whose books are translated into many languages and occupy an important place in modern culture. The first Lithuanian dissident, personally knew Akhmatov, Pasternak, Milos, Brodsky and many others, was among the five founding members of the Lithuanian Helsinki group, one of the first human rights organizations of Eastern Europe. Before us is his detailed interview, where historical events are intertwined with the chronicles of spiritual resistance, a detailed report on the fate and ethical choice of the writer in the twentieth century.
Ellen Hinsi (b. 1960) - an independent researcher, specialist in modern European history, the author of several books about historical memory, mental heritage of totalitarianism, anthropology of violence. Born and raised in the USA, has been living in Europe for the last three decades, teaches in Paris.
