This monograph attempts to analyze the dramatic events taking place in post-Soviet Ukraine from a geopolitical perspective. Based on extensive empirical material, it explores the interests of the United States and their Western European allies, evaluates the foreign policy activities of other participants in the Ukrainian party of the great geopolitical game, which led to the decomposition of Ukraine and a tectonic shift in the contemporary international relations system. Special attention is paid to highlighting the position of the Russian Federation in the context of the Ukrainian crisis (1991-2021). According to the author, the Ukrainian crisis is a consequence of a geopolitical catastrophe linked to the collapse of the USSR. It was initiated by the West, led by the United States, in order to detach Ukraine from Russia, turning the neighboring state into a kind of "sanitary cordon" and a springboard for further geopolitical expansion to the East. The true goal of the architects of the "color revolutions" is to use Maidan technologies to replace nationally oriented governments in post-Soviet states with puppet regimes, ultimately dealing a final geopolitical blow to Russia and thereby seizing its natural resources. This work is of interest to the academic and teaching staff of educational institutions and practitioners specializing in the analysis, evaluation, and forecasting of threats to the national security of the Russian Federation, as well as to all those who care about their own fate and the future of our country.
