The textbook covers issues related to the application of care and layout research on the felling sites of special wheeled tractors of the 6 and 9 kN traction class with an articulated frame. The theoretical foundations of the layout of forest wheeled tractors with an articulated frame were developed by scientists from the Department of Design of Special Forest Machines at the Saint Petersburg State Forest Technical Academy. Technological processes and machinery for obtaining planting material, conducting care felling, combating forest fires, and carrying out ameliorative and preparatory work are described. Materials on the use of the compact tractor T-25AL in forestry with various technological equipment are presented. The methodology and data for calculating the load on the chassis and analyzing the distribution of loads on the tractor's drive axles are provided. Examples of research on the parameters of forestry machines using Excel programs, STATISTICA 6, the Russian version of the PLP-88 package, and the MathCAD-14 system are given. The textbook is intended for students of colleges and technical schools studying in the field of "Forestry and Forest Park Management."
