The strategic importance of the activities of seaports for the country's economy and the significance of port handling equipment are being revealed. The structure of the main types of handling equipment is examined in detail. Attention is paid to the types of cranes, auto and electric forklifts, conveyors and elevators, handling devices for containers, special handling machines, loading and unloading devices. The methodology for calculating their technical performance is provided. Issues related to the requirements for the design of handling machines considering safety and environmental protection regulations are discussed.
