1888. East London is a city in the city. The place of shadows and light, a place where thieves and whores are adjacent to dreamers, where children play the cobblestone bridges during the day, and at night a killer is sneaked on them, where bright hopes are faced with gloomy reality. Here, under the whisper of the waves of Thames, Fiona Finnegan, an employee of the tea factory, dreams once to open her store with Joe Bristow, the son of a market merchant, whom she knows and loves since childhood.
