A novel about the intense work of specialists in a unique unit of the KGB. From brainstorming during the preparation of a secret operation to a real confrontation with a cunning enemy anywhere on the globe - a path that is only within the capabilities of courageous and dedicated professionals committed to their cause.
The late 1960s. Western intelligence services are preparing a provocation on the territory of the Uzbek SSR. According to their plan, a group of saboteurs is supposed to organize mass anti-Soviet riots during a football match at the central stadium in Tashkent, and then detonate several important capital objects. This would signal the beginning of a state coup in the republic. Upon learning about the impending operation, the KGB leadership sends a special forces group 'Don' led by Major Vyacheslav Bogdanov to Uzbekistan. The operatives manage to capture one of the agents who reveals the exact time and targets of the sabotage, as well as the address of a safe house. However, when they arrive at the safe house, they only find part of the sabotage group, as the rest have already left for their mission. Bogdanov realizes that he has only a few hours to prevent the tragedy.
