This monograph is dedicated to the problems of rehabilitating patients who have had a stroke. The general part of the monograph covers the theoretical aspects of rehabilitation, its levels and stages, as well as the general conditions for the effective and successful implementation of restorative treatment. The special part of the monograph is devoted to describing the principles of organizing and conducting various methods and types of physical, physiotherapeutic, neuropsychological, psychotherapeutic, and pharmacological rehabilitation. In addition, the monograph extensively discusses issues related to the prevention and treatment of various stroke complications, such as muscle spasticity and contractures, pneumonia and aspiration, dehydration, swallowing and feeding disorders, pelvic organ dysfunction, pressure ulcers, deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremities, and shoulder joint pain. A separate chapter explores the perspective of a specialist from the "red zone" on the issues of progression or development of neurological and neurovascular diseases against the background of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and the potential for enhancing the effectiveness of therapy and rehabilitation for this category of patients. The monograph is intended for neurologists, physical and rehabilitation medicine physicians, therapists, speech therapists, physicians and methodologists of therapeutic physical culture, physiotherapists, nurses involved in the care of stroke patients and patients who have had COVID-19, as well as healthcare organizers.
