The textbook describes basic information about hydrocarbons, methods of developing oil and gas fields, oil and gas extraction techniques. It covers systems for field collection and preparation of oil and gas, the main functions of equipment for collecting and preparing oil and gas, and oil accounting systems. It provides a list of automation objects in oil and gas production, describes the organization of the automated process control system (APCS) in oil and gas production. Requirements for the volume of automation of oil production facilities, pipeline transportation, and telemechanics of oil production facilities are also presented.
