The book discusses the theory, calculation, design and testing of synchronous electrical machines of the reciprocating movement. The focus is on engines with excitation from permanent magnets, for which the expressions of electromagnetic forces are determined, and transitional and established modes under various types of load are studied on this basis. The issues of their design and calculation are discussed. A large number of examples are given illustrating the practical application of the results of theoretical studies. A specific place is assigned to the generator mode of operation, and it is shown ways to use the electrical machines under consideration as sources of energy.
