The new book of the famous historian Mikhail Zhirohova is devoted to the unfinished war that broke out on the fragments of the Soviet Empire in the late 1980s - Karabakh. The protracted bloody conflict between Armenians and Azerbaijanis left more questions than answers. Today, after almost twenty years after the end of the active phase of the armed confrontation, the Karabakh war can hardly be considered completed. The book M.A. Zhirokhova is based on a large array of documentaries and memoirs of the participants of the war, many of which the author interviewed himself. Analysis of the military confrontation, as well as the study of the use of troops, artillery, tanks, tanks is especially interesting. Much attention is paid to the author to consider the organization and tactics of the Armenian, Azerbaijani and Karabakh troops at different stages of their existence
