Suprematist mirror

In Kazimir Malevich's figure, the revolutionary spirit that permeated European art at the beginning of the 20th century was most vividly expressed. Taking into account the experiences of Cubism and Futurism, the artist took the next step by freeing form from its extraneous content and declaring the primacy of color energy. This gave rise to a new radical avant-garde direction - Suprematism. Its pictorial manifesto became the world-famous "Black Square," but for Malevich, asserting new aesthetic principles was not only a matter of artistic practice but also deep philosophical reflection, embodied in many articles, declarations, and treatises.
This edition aims to introduce readers to Malevich's legacy as a theorist and thinker. The collection includes selected works, many of which were published during the artist's lifetime in 1916-1928, while others were found in archives and only saw the light of day in the 1990s. The majority of the works are printed in the author's style, vocabulary, and spelling, allowing us to see the originality of Malevich's language.
Over the decades, the writings of the brilliant inventor of Suprematism have proven their indisputable value for the history and philosophy of art, and the fiery energy of thought that illuminates them continues to convey to us the roar of ideological struggle that unfolded on the artistic stage of the avant-garde.
