many people spend the summer outside the city: in the village or in the country. What can you do with a child there? Modern mothers and dads are increasingly complaining that the child disappears on the phone even in the country. And I want him to learn as much as possible about nature, grow something, make it yourself ...
But in order to interest children, it is best to infect them with a good example.
Therefore, I came up with a book where it is not just telling about summer crafts, games and creativity, but real children act. They communicate, argue, play, fall into alterations. Events and small adventures replace each other, and the book explains along the way and suggests that to photograph the nest is building around the city, why there is a starfall in August, who crawls in the grass, how to make a small lighthouse for a pond or draw a plan of a summer cottage, how to build Strong hut or sew a patchwork rug ...
One of the main topics of the book is children"s freedom. In the conditions of a big city, we cannot give children all the freedom they need for security reasons. And in the village, a child can easily feel freer, and this is a very valuable experience. There are other joys and other rules. How to distinguish a poisonous plant from harmless, how not to get lost, is it possible to understand with local residents, how to explain to clean -groomed, that wet clay at the ditch is not dirt, but excellent material for modeling and building ... - All this is in the book .
Before writing and drawing this book, I spent a lot of time with my children and my husband in the village. Most of the events described are the revised personal experience of our family.
In fact, four years ago we had no village, but once, having read the next book Astrid Lindgren, my children said: "We need a village!" My husband and I gasped and went to look for a village house. We searched for a long time, just traveling in different regions of Russia. And in the end they found that house and that village that is described in the book. We loved this place very much. And living there, he was conducting a diary with the children, where they recorded the most interesting thing that happened to us. This served as a material for the book.
About the author
Zina Surova - illustrator, designer, decorator. He is also engaged in painting and writes texts for his books.
graduated from Moscow State University of Press. Member of the book section of the Moscow Union of Artists and the Association of Illustrators "Magic saw". Member of international book exhibitions and festivals. He teaches at the Higher Academic School of Graphic Design. I issued a number of books and children"s projects, including the book of Tim Sobakin "From Corona Correlations" (Egmont-Russia Publishing House), which in 2009 became a children"s book of the year.
In illustrations, he uses a variety of materials and techniques: mascara, acrylic, butter, clay, wood, collage. Recently it became the author of the children"s cognitive project - the book "Cosmos".
