The concept of functional style in the domestic and foreign linguistics is considered in the monograph, the concepts of register style and social and professional style are distinguished, the units of dialogic speech are described, the membership of social and professional styles on speech registers in the dialogues of the works of fiction, they are described Structural and lexico-semantic features, the dependence of the use of one or another register style is established from the goal of the entry of speakers in the dialogue.
On the example of the dialogues of journalistic texts, the use of speech registers in various socio-professional styles reflected in newspaper and magazine journalism is considered.
