The publication is dedicated to the People's Artist of the Komi Republic, Vasily Georgievich Ignatov (1922-1998), whose art primarily carries the Komi national character. The author himself defined the distant Komi antiquity as the main theme of his work, which has come down to us in pagan beliefs, preserved in epic texts, and which he recreated in his works in his unique style. The publication includes an article that extensively covers the artist's life path and the entire spectrum of his creative activity, an illustrated catalog featuring selected works by Ignatov from the collection of the National Gallery of the Komi Republic, a brief biography, and rare archival photographs.
