The book by N.I. Mikhaylova tells the story of the creation of the V.L. Pushkin House-Museum on the Old Basmannaya Street, about the exhibitions that preceded its opening in 2013. At the center of the narrative is Vasily Lvovich Pushkin, a well-known poet of the early 19th century, the native uncle of Alexander Pushkin, and his first mentor in poetry. Vasily Lvovich is portrayed as a theater enthusiast, bibliophile, traveler, naive dandy, and admirer of beautiful ladies. The book includes his poems and the poem "Dangerous Neighbor," the appearance of which in 1811 was a literary sensation. The book concludes with a fantastic story in which the author meets his characters, about the lives of the uncle and nephew in modern culture, the relevance of their moral values today.
