The great lexicographer and folklorist Vladimir Ivanovich Dal had his own view of the human being and the entire Russian world, which allowed him to single-handedly create such unique dictionaries as the dictionary of the living language and the dictionary of proverbs and sayings. This view through the dictionaries is difficult to understand, but V.I. Dal was also a writer who in the 1830s created a concept of human life in his stories, and in the stories of the 1840s-1860s he revealed the picture of Russian folk life. In the life of a person and a nation, Dal believed that chance and word play a huge role. They can be ordered in a dictionary, but for every rule there will always be an opposite. The publication is prepared for the 220th anniversary of the writer's birth.
