The collection "Stop in the desert" was first published in the Chekhov Publishing House in 1970.
The collection was compiled by the author in Russia, and the texts of the poems were secretly transported by editors to New York. Brodsky believed that the book should give an idea of what was (according to his views at that time) a collection of his mature works.
The Ardis publishing house released the reprint of the collection "Stop in the desert" in 1988 to replenish the gap in a series of collections of Brodsky poems that published in this publishing house
