Thomas Ventslova (1937, Klaipeda) is a poet, translator, literary critic, publicist. In 1960 he graduated from the Faculty of Lithuanian Philology of Vilnius University. He worked at the Institute of History, taught at Vilnius University. Since 1976, a member of the Lithuanian Helsinki Group. In 1977, emigrated to the United States. Since 1980, Professor at the Department of Slavic Literatures of Yale University (New Hayven) Winner of the National Prize (2000) The heritage of Western and Russian poetry Thomas Ventslova fruitfully connected with Lithuanian tradition
