This textbook presents the methodology of statistics in the unity of quantitative assessment and substantive analysis of the state, development, forecast, and relationships of socio-economic phenomena. The evolution of statistics as a science and its subject, methods of calculating absolute, relative, and average indicators in assessing socio-economic phenomena are considered. The content and types of statistical observation and summaries are described. A characterization of sample observation and methods of calculating its errors is given. Methods of studying development and forecasting based on dynamic series, as well as indices in assessing the development and relationships of phenomena, the basics of correlation-regression analysis of relationships are discussed.
