Mongol-Tatar Igo inflicted great damage to the cultural heritage of ancient Russia: many architectural structures were destroyed, and the works of decorative and applied art were destroyed or abducted. People tried to keep valuable things with all their mights, burling the treasures into the ground. Some of them were found immediately after the end of the Ordia rule, other archaeologists are still discovering. The exposition that will unfold in the Mikhailovsky Castle will be about 400 works of jewelry of the XI-XIII centuries, most of which are treasures, hidden from Mongol-Tatar troops. These silver and gold products demonstrate different art technologies and styles used by Domongolsky time jewelers. Decorations with partitioned enamel, products with engraving, works, decorated with grain - Many of these items belonged to princes, boyars and vigilates of Kyiv, Old Ryazan, Chernigov. Of particular interest is the legacy of the treasures of Kyiv: pendants and furnished bracelets with the image of birds, animals and scenes of pagan holidays, chain-shards and diadems that performed the functions of the marriage crowns. All this will allow the presentation of both the tastes of urban residents and the level of jewelry skill of that time. An exposition of the instrumental artists-jewelers - those subjects, with which centuries ago they created amazing works of art.
