Children of exiles from Kamchatka were not released, so the fate of Lyonka was predetermined: he was to live here until old age, hunt for fur, get married if someone caught his eye... He and his friend and peer Vanka wanted to visit foreign lands about which they knew nothing. But those were just dreams. The arrival of Maurice-Auguste Bespoysk, exiled by the Russian Empress for participating in a conspiracy against the Polish king, turned Lyonka's life and the lives of all the inhabitants of Kamchatka upside down. The unrestrained and fearless adventurer managed to devise an escape plan, gather nearly a hundred people - exiles, hunters, workers, and sailors - under his leadership, seize a ship, and set sail for Europe. Japan - Formosa - France - Madagascar - a journey full of dangers and hopes for a bright future. But will these hopes come true? Lyonka unquestionably believes in Bespoysk and follows him to the end. Nikolai Grigorievich Smirnov (1890 - 1933) was a Soviet writer and playwright. The author of the famous story "Jack Vosmerkin - American." The historical adventure novel "State of the Sun" tells the story of the real traveler Moritz Benyovszky (1746 - 1786), who colonized Madagascar and became its king. Suitable for middle and high school age.
