Lilia Gabo invites us to recall the traditions of the ancient Slavs. Our ancestors-pagan Slavs-brought painted eggs as a gift to their pagan gods, hoping that they would be merciful to the donors. The egg was considered a symbol of the universe, a source of a new life, a sign of the victory of spring over winter. During the eggs in a certain way, people hoped to avoid grief and diseases, collect a rich harvest, attract wealth to the house, meet love, give birth to healthy children.
