This monograph is the first fundamental work dedicated to a comprehensive analysis of the most important and controversial issues in sports science, i.e. a modern integrative science that encompasses a range of scientific disciplines studying physical activity and human physicality. For the convenience of readers, the text of the monograph is divided into two books. The first book provides an analysis of the general concept and history of sports science, evaluates its current state, defines the object domain, and develops the conceptual framework of this science, providing the means to address these issues. The second book analyzes the objects and subjects of study in this science, the processes of differentiation and integration of scientific disciplines within its structure, presents an innovative technology for theoretical (integrated with empirical) research, as well as other procedures, methods of dialectical thinking, and their importance in effectively solving complex issues in sports science. The author draws on the results of their many years of research and pedagogical activities since 1972 to analyze these issues. To avoid one-sidedness in their resolution and to allow readers to choose their own perspective, the work systematizes and critically analyzes publications by other domestic and foreign authors on the discussed problems. The text references publications that readers can consult for more comprehensive information on specific topics. The monograph is interdisciplinary in nature and is addressed not only to scientific researchers and practical specialists in the field of physical culture and sports but also to anyone engaged in or interested in the issues of sports science.
