Jules Verne (1828–1905) - French writer, classic of adventure literature, one of the founders of the science fiction genre.
Verne was born and raised in Nant. Having moved to Paris, he, at the insistence of his parents, continued his family tradition - he studied jurisprudence and received a lawyer"s diploma. Here he began to publish plays and devoted most of his time to writing books.
