Jules Verne (1828-1905) - French writer, classic of adventure literature, one of the founders of the science fiction genre.
Verne was born and raised in Nant. Having moved to Paris, he, at the insistence of his parents, continued his family tradition - he studied jurisprudence and received a lawyer"s diploma. Here he began to publish plays and devoted most of his time to writing books.
Soon the capable author attracted the attention of the publishers, and with him concluded a contract that obliges two novels for 20 years annually. Numerous adventure novels Verne were very popular. In one of the letters, he complained: "I was lost among the incredible adventures of my heroes. I regret only one thing: I cannot accompany them ... "
Roman "Young Travelers" published in 1903. Nine pupils of the Antille School of London, who won the competition, together with the mentor will go on the Snow Ship on the Antilles Islands.
