The satirical novel by Mark Twain "Yankees from Connecticut at the court of King Arthur" is one of the first literary works about time travel. The novel, published in 1889, tells about the adventures of an entrepreneurial American from Connecticut of the late XIX century, inexplicably ended up in England.
During a fight, the hero receives a blow with a crowbar on the head and loses consciousness. Having woke up, he discovers that he was transferred to the era of King Arthur and the knights of the round table - but does not despair. The cheerful Yankees easily manages to take a place at the royal court as a wizard, squeezing the old Merlin. Using his knowledge of science, technology and history, he begins to actively introduce all layers of medieval society to the benefits of civilization: electricity, telegraph, newspapers and much more. Good luck accompanies the Yankees in everything, but with his "magical" activity, he sets up the church and chivalry against himself, and they declare war on him ...
The book is illustrated by the works of Sergey Yarovoy.

He illustrated more than 60 children"s and teenage books. The artist’s works are in private collections of Russia, the USA, Austria, Germany and Brazil. Sergei Yarovoy regularly participates in Russian and foreign exhibitions.
