The attention of the readers is offered the book of the Russian spiritual writer N.F. Odintsov (1852-1906), dedicated to the description of the order of public and private services in ancient Russia from the time of the adoption of Christianity to the beginning of the 16th century. It is shown that the main influence on the formation of the liturgical order in Rus" was the liturgical practice of the Greek Church, the Latin Church (in the western parts of Russia) and the churches of the South Slavic lands, in particular Bulgaria, the main points of this influence are indicated. The study of the liturgical order of the ancient Russian church is divided into three periods, characterized by the dominance of various church charters: the charter of the Constantinople monastery St. George (until 1070), the Studio Charter (until the XIV century inclusive) and the Jerusalem Charter (finally introduced at the end of the 15th century) In addition, the author compares the liturgical order of ancient Russia with the order of worship of the modern period --- the second half of the 19th century.
The book is recommended for historians, theologians, religious scholars, students of theological faculties, as well as a wide circle of readers interested in the history of the Russian Orthodox Church
