The scientific and fiction story of the famous writer and journalist Leonid Platov talks about the expedition to the far north in search of unknown land, where the mysterious "children of the Sun" live.
This story began with a wild goose ... or rather, from a note found on the paw of birds with young naturalists from the city of Lenkoran and who accidentally fell into the hands of an ethnographer Vladimir Savchuk. From the fragmentary words on Berest, it was possible to understand that some Russian traveler of the 20th century, crossing Taimyr, discovered a lost tribe of samoyeds and, with the help of a ringed bird, informed his find. Without wasting time, in search of a traveler and mysterious "children of the sun", worshiping the mysterious bird Mauk, an expedition is sent. After a long journey through the tundra, through snowstorms and frosts, the heroes fall into an unknown country of seven herbs. But what is this country? How could she arise in the impregnable mountains of Byrrang on the very edge of the world? And is the brave traveler alive with "children of the Sun" for more than twenty years? ..
The book is illustrated by the realistic drawings of Sergey Yarovoy.
