Sports came to us from distant antiquity. Already many thousands of years ago, during the Stone Age, our ancestors competed among themselves in accuracy, speed, strength and endurance. Many cave paintings, which are already about 30,000 years old, tell how it happened then. Of course, so far these were not the sports that we were used to today, but the beginning of the development of sports was laid.
There were times, and people came up with new, sometimes very strange sporting entertainment in our modern opinion, such as knocking protein from trees, tug of acne, fishermen"s fights and jumping through the backs of bulls ... further, and now in Ancient Greece is held by the first Olympic Games, and from that moment on the history of sports is developing rapidly. In a small book, unfortunately, one cannot tell the full story of such a phenomenon that is significant for our civilization, but you will read interesting information about the most popular sports, outstanding athletes, international sports organizations and many more, many interesting things
