If your child has already learned to read in syllables, then it is time for him to start reading in whole words, and the books in which words are divided into syllables are replaced by others. But how difficult it is to choose a book that the child could read to the end! The baby does not have enough skill to get a holistic impression of what he read. But it is important not only to understand what is said in the story, but also to be able to convey its content. To do this, you need to own developed coherent speech. You can achieve this only by teaching the child to retell.
The textbook that we offer you is directed:
- on the development of the skill of conscious reading in whole words,
- on the development of coherent speech,
- to the development of the ability to convert in detail the content of the read.
The text in the training manual is divided into separate semantic parts, after which the child is offered questions to understand what has been read. They will help him holistically perceive the text and develop the ability to speak with complete sentences.
Many phrases and sentences are repeated more than once, which helps the development of reading skills with whole words, since the familiar text does not cause difficulties.
For learning retelling, the principle from simple to complex is used: first, the child is proposed to retell it after reading each semantic part, and then the whole text as a whole by support to drawings that will help to build a sequence of events.

- An adult reads to the text,
- Teach the child to answer questions with a complete sentence and grammatically correctly,
- For learning retelling, be sure to discuss with your child the main idea of an excerpt read, then invite him to read this passage again, remembering what is being said about, and then offer the child, based on the drawing, retell this passage as much as possible
