The book of Anatoly Vasilyevich Vedernikov "Religious fate of the great people of Russian national culture" is a course of lectures on the history of Russian religious thought, read by the author in 1944-1948 at the Orthodox Theological Institute, then transformed into the Moscow Theological Academy.
The history of religious thought is considered in the chronological framework of the XVIII-XIX centuries, through the story of the life and fate of the most outstanding representatives of Russian culture. The author invites the reader to establish a living connection with the carriers of religious consciousness in the past for the enrichment and expansion of our own religious consciousness. Revealing the religious world of great people, A.V. Vedernikov indicates the ways on which the power of God is committed by the salvation of man for eternity. By acquiring the ability to penetrate into the nature of sinful temptations, we learn to fight more successfully to restore the moral dignity of the personality in ourselves.
