The monograph considers the problem of the psychological support of the training of athletes, which is one of the priority areas for increasing the effectiveness of competitive activity in modern Olympic sports. The concept of psychological support was developed in the system of training athletes in Olympic sports and its conceptual foundations (goal, tasks, methods, principles, conditions, factors of influence, criteria for effectiveness, stages of implementation, implementation algorithm) The proposed concept combines the methodology of psychodiagnostic research and the system of psychological correction of the athlete in Olympic sports in relation to the stages of many years of improvement, taking into account the characteristics of the competitive activity of certain sports according to the Olympic classification.
