Gospel of the Executioner

The famous writers Arkady and George Vainers began the study of the collapse and rebirth of Soviet ideology in the novel “Loop and Stone in Green Grass”. The Gospel of the executioner is the second part of the dilogy.
In the 1970s, a retired, but still not old Colonel MGB Snatkin is still on a horse: he has an apartment in a prestigious house, a second wife, numerous unrelections and communications. He even has a blue Mercedes! The times when he worked on knocking out testimonies from the various “enemies of the people” has long passed. True, T -shirt, obstructing her daughter from her first marriage, decided to marry a foreigner ... This is not good in itself, but then more. The groom suddenly decided to call the future father -in -law to answer for old crimes, and a lot of material was accumulated on the colonel.
The storyteller in the novel is Snutkin himself. The memory at times throws him from a prosperous present into the bloody indescribable past. We see his life from the inside, his eyes. And here"s the “good news” from the executioner: the element of people who without hesitation break other people"s fate are fear. They generate it, eat it and understand only this language. The words of mercy and love are unknown to them, inaccessible. And their life is ugly. But this does not make them less dangerous
