Yanis lives with the old man Frid on top of a mountain, far away from civilization. The world is dangerous, and the Great Disease is cunning - so Frid has been telling Yanis since childhood. The old man sometimes descends from the mountain to exchange spoons, which Yanis skillfully carves from wood, for supplies. But one day, Frid does not return to the cabin. Food runs out, and then Yanis has only one option: to load up the donkey, whistle for the dog Loku, and set out in search of Frid - into danger.
