The monograph is dedicated to the symbolic worldview of Fyodor Dostoevsky. The work establishes a new cultural-historical typology of the symbol, which significantly supplements the prevailing approach in literary studies to the symbol as a universal category. The differences in cultural-historical types and styles of symbolism from Antiquity to the Modern era are entry points into the specificity of symbolic thinking, both epochal and individual. Recommended for students of philological and philosophical faculties, teachers, and all those interested in the works and worldview of Fyodor Dostoevsky, as well as questions of the development of philosophy.
