The main theme of the new book of one of the largest modern poets Boris Kherson (b. 1950) is the transformations of a religious and cultural tradition in the minds of modern man. Religious tradition is represented in the book by various Christian faiths, from Protestantism to Orthodoxy, cultural - the history of Russian literature of the XIX -XX centuries. Each poem is a meeting of traditions with an aggravated personal look of one of the heroes of the book, or a test of tradition "in the light of conscience". The symbol of such a meeting is Spirichuel, initially - the simple -minded genre of folk Christian chant, which in the 20th century has become part of the international musical language of the modern world
