The book contains photographs of Soviet monuments and memorials that I took during ten years of traveling through the former Soviet republics. These are monuments dedicated to the victory in the Great Patriotic War, to science and progress, to revolutionary events, and to outstanding personalities of that era. Some of these monuments have already been destroyed, and others will soon disappear. The goal of the book is to showcase the grandeur and beauty of Soviet monuments, the skill of their creators, and to call for their preservation. Arseny Kotov is a traveler, photographer, and blogger. For his art, he travels across Russia and post-Soviet republics in search of unique and impressive architectural objects, monuments, and abandoned places.
