The journalistic photo album tells about the fate of people living in South Ossetia, the materials about which were collected in 2008-2011. The heroes of this book are inherent in internal experiences, rethinking of oneself and the desire to share the conclusions made after a three -day stay on the border line that separates life from death. They are not similar to each other: a Russian woman who survived after 9 hours of being on the line of fire, Georgian domains, 30 years old care for an ancient temple in the Ossetian village, a priest who escorts his son to a fighting position, an American Joe, whose family was under the bombs in the bombs Java ... they are all different, but there is something unifying in them - awareness of a deep, sometimes higher than the natural meaning of the events of August 2008. The red thread through the entire narrative passes an excursion on the history of the North Caucasus. The album contains 250 photos shot in a reporting genre
