However, behind this beautiful "cover" there is another side: Korean media is full of stories about internal crises, scandals, constant competitive races, and Koreans often complain about life and, according to surveys, are quite unhappy. What is the price of the fascinating world of success? Oleg Kiryanov is a journalist-internationalist, political scientist, historian-Korean studies specialist, and a candidate of historical sciences. He graduated from the Korean department of the Faculty of Eastern Studies at St. Petersburg State University, and completed his bachelor's and master's degrees at Seoul National University. He specializes in the history and modernity of the Korean Peninsula, has been living and working in Seoul for over 20 years. He offers the reader to look at Korea through different eyes, often through the eyes of Koreans themselves.
