The German philosopher of the 20th century, Martin Heidegger, wrote that the word "Lied" comes from the Latin "laudate," meaning "to praise." Therefore, in his opinion, a song is always a form of praise, a light. A song is closely connected with words, verses, and poetry. This was important for Vladimir Kobekin when he was creating the 50 piano pieces collection "Book of Songs" (consisting of seven series in total). In this collection, the fifth and sixth series are presented: 'Songs of the Fool of King Lear' and 'Pastorals'. The pieces vary in difficulty from relatively simple to requiring virtuosic technique. Performing a whole series is welcomed, but individual pieces will also be appreciated by performers. This collection is intended for a wide range of musicians.
