Symphony No. 5 Op. 67 Beethoven is one of the most performed works of the world musical heritage. Its premiere took place in December 1808 at the Vienna Theater and was not too successful: the audience quite coldly accepted the new composition of the composer. But the second performance, held in Leipzig, was starting the success of the symphony. The essay became a kind of “synopsis” to Beethoven’s whole work, concentrating in itself the most typical features of the style of the Vienna classic. The publication is addressed to a wide range of professionals and lovers of music.
