The English composer Edward Elgar (1857-1934) is revered in their homeland as a national hero - along with G. Persell, W. Shakespeare, C. Dickens, B. Show. His work had a tremendous influence on the musical culture of England. In the composer style of Elgar, national features and Western European (especially Austro-German) trends organically intertwined. The collection includes both popular ("greeting of love" Ort. 12, "Capricar" Ort. 17), and less repertoire (three plays for violin and piano orth. 4) essays for violin and piano.
