Little is known about the life and work of the French violinist and composer Jean-Batist Seniye (1688-1730) A student of J. A. Dr. Vitali, a musician of the royal orchestra of 24 violins at the court of Louis XIV, organically combined in his work the characteristic features of French and Italian music. Its violin sonatas amazed contemporaries with their expressiveness and a variety of technical techniques.
